CHIMAIRA "The Infection" CD
Ferret Records
After changing label in 2007 (Roadrunner Records) Chimaira joined Ferret Records and released « Resurrection » and two years later it releases « The Infection ». The style of the group is modern metal, metal core with influences of death and thrash metal. The album is well balanced with mid tempos, heavy songs and groovy ones with catchy parts. Some melodic lines are really nice to hear. It is however too bad that the bass guitar is not heard so much as the drums are technical and overwhelming. I find the vocalist is at his place with his growls and his clean vocals even if I don’t like this kind of voice. The composition that I appreciate the most is “The Heart Of It All” witch is a long instrumental song, very melodic and lively. This is a direct and heavy album.
