Lion Music 02 – 2010
Some of you might know Charly Sahona to be the guitarist player for his progressive metal group Venturia. For this first solo album, this is not like most of the albums of guitarists, an instrumental album. Charly has been surrounded with his friends from Venturia Diego Rapacchietti, the drummer and Thomas James the bass player of venturia. Along the songs you will find extremely sophisticate and technique soli. He shows even most in this album his progressive side, however well present in Venturia. No need to tell you that his guitars influences are coming from guitarists such as Malmsteen, Jason Becker, Steve Vaï. Musically speaking some songs are catchier than others but it is maybe because they are less technique than the other ones, so more accessible and more melodic. Now, let’s talk about the vocals, it is not that Charly does not sing right, but I find his voice monotonous. To be short a good first album with solid compositions.
