This is the seventh album from the Russian group Alkonost. The style of “On The Wings Of The Call” is folk black/pagan metal. The folk instruments are well mixed to metal ones. The two voices, the female voice, Alena’s voice, nearly operatic, goes pretty well with the male growl. The vocals are in Russian. Besides metal and folk instruments you will find keyboards which will give nice instrumental lines. The compositions are sometimes soft, other times very melodic, and other times aggressive depending the instruments used. For most of the time the songs are dark and epic.
It is a nice album to listen to.
