If there is an album that the Deep Purple, Whitesnake fans and other groups of the same style will like it is this « Twisted » from the group The Cotton Soeterboek Band !!! The members are coming from different groups : Robert Soeterboek at vocals (Ayreon), Reynold Carlson (Driver/Rob Rock), Mike Davis (Rob Halford), Joost Van Den Broek (After Forever) and of course the talented guitarist Alan Cotton. It is an excellent album with which you’ll have pleasant moments of listening and you’ll be pleased to listen. The tracks, whatever the influences that they have are always keeping a side coming from the 70s all keeping a modern side. The styles of the compositions go from hard rock with a bluesy side, others sound more in the Deep Purple spirit with very present keyboards, others more southern rock in the Lynyrd Skynyrd manner, add to this some funk, gospel and of course ROCK touches … The all melodic ! Vocally speaking, there is nothing to say, Robert Soeterboek has a sublime voice, melodic, well at place, well rock’n’roll.
The musicians and the vocalist are pros and you can feel it in the compositions that they perfectly interpret. Each of the compositions is based on Alan Cotton’s guitar who does not show off his knowledge of technique but who use melody and musicality to these ones.
At the end a superb album that I can only recommend you !!!
